Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last Updated: August 29, 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to subscriptions to The Volt Planner web application (the “Service”) purchased from The Volt Planner LLC. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It does not apply to any other product, brand, or service.

1. What You Are Purchasing

A Volt Planner subscription is a licence to access web-based software for a recurring term. You are paying for access to the Service during your billing period. You are not purchasing a physical good, a bespoke deliverable, a professional engineering service, or any specific project outcome.

The tools included in your subscription depend on the plan you select and are listed on our pricing page.

2. When the Service Is Considered Delivered

Because the Service is delivered electronically and on demand, delivery and performance for a given billing period occur as follows:

  • On activation. The Service is delivered when your account is provisioned with access to the tools included in your plan and you are able to sign in and use them.
  • Continuously through the period. Each billing period is performed by making those tools available to you throughout that period, whether or not you choose to use them.
  • Outputs. Any estimate, drawing, material list, panel schedule, or permit package you generate and export is a delivered output at the moment it is generated.

Non-use of the Service during a billing period you have paid for is not a failure of delivery.

3. General Refund Position

All sales are final and payments are non-refundable once the applicable product or service has been provided substantially as described at the time of purchase, except where otherwise expressly stated by The Volt Planner LLC or where a refund is required by applicable law.

In practice, this means we do not issue refunds or credits for:

  • Billing periods that have already begun, including partial periods remaining after you cancel.
  • Periods during which you had access to the Service but did not use it, or used it less than you expected to.
  • Unused portions of an annual term following a mid-term cancellation.
  • A change of mind, a change in your business circumstances, or a decision to switch to different software.
  • Dissatisfaction with an estimate, drawing, price figure, or other output, where the Service functioned as described. Outputs are planning aids that you are responsible for reviewing and verifying before use (see Terms of Service, Disclaimers).

Where the law says otherwise, the law wins. Nothing in this policy limits, waives, or overrides any refund, cancellation, cooling-off, or other consumer right that applicable law makes non-waivable. If a mandatory legal right entitles you to a refund, we will honour it regardless of the position stated above.

4. Free Trials and Automatic Renewal

4.1 How Trials Work

Where a plan includes a free trial, the trial length is stated on the checkout screen for that plan before you pay. A valid payment method is required at signup for every plan. You are not charged during the trial.

4.2 Automatic Conversion

If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription converts automatically and your payment method is charged the rate disclosed at checkout. Subscriptions then renew automatically at the same rate and cadence until cancelled. The exact trial length, first charge date, amount, and renewal cadence for your plan are shown on the checkout screen before you enter payment details.

4.3 Cancelling During a Trial

You may cancel at any time during a free trial at no cost from your account page. Cancelling during the trial prevents the first charge. This does not apply to plans carrying a minimum-term commitment, which are governed by Section 5.

4.4 Cancelling a Paid Subscription

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account page or by emailing support@thevoltplanner.com. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access to your plan through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and that period is not refunded or pro-rated.

4.5 No Renewal Reminders

We do not send email or other reminders before each automatic renewal charge. You are responsible for tracking your trial end date, billing dates, and renewal schedule. Charges will process on the disclosed schedule whether or not you receive a notice from us.

4.6 Cancellation Takes Longer Than Signup

Signing up is a short online checkout. Cancelling requires signing in, navigating to your account page, and submitting a cancellation request (or emailing support and waiting for us to process it). Cancellation stops future renewals at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. That period is not refunded.

4.7 Switching Plans

Changing tiers mid-term is handled as a subscription change rather than a refund. Our payment processor calculates proration automatically: unused time on your former tier is credited against the new tier. A downgrade may therefore produce an account credit rather than a cash refund.

5. New Graduate Bundle

The New Graduate Electrician Bundle is sold at a discounted rate in exchange for a 24-month minimum commitment that begins when the 14-day free trial ends. Its refund and cancellation terms differ from every other plan, and they are set out in full in Terms of Service Sections 4.9 and 4.10. In summary:

  • Trial cancellation is free. You may cancel at any point during the 14-day trial at no cost and are not charged.
  • Self-service cancellation is disabled during the commitment. Once the commitment period begins, plan changes, cancellation, and the self-service billing portal are turned off for this plan. Billing questions and payment-method updates are handled by emailing support.
  • An early-termination fee applies. If the Bundle is terminated before the commitment ends for any reason other than a qualified Job Guarantee claim, an early-termination fee equal to the total promotional discount already received becomes due, and may be charged to the payment method on file.
  • The Job Guarantee is the only refund route. The conditional money-back Job Guarantee described in Terms of Service Section 4.10 is the sole and exclusive refund remedy for the Bundle. It has strict qualifying conditions, including a minimum number of documented submitted bids, a documented absence of any won paid work, an evidence package, and a claim window. Read Section 4.10 in full before enrolling.
  • The Job Guarantee is not a promise of work. It is a refund mechanism only. We do not guarantee that you will win bids or obtain paid electrical work.

6. Failed Payments and Suspension

If a scheduled payment fails, we or our payment processor may retry the charge and may suspend or terminate access to the Service until the balance is settled. Suspension for non-payment does not extinguish amounts already owed, including any early-termination fee under Section 5.

7. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us first at support@thevoltplanner.com. Most billing questions are resolved faster directly than through your bank, and we would rather fix a genuine mistake than argue about one.

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not by itself cancel your subscription or discharge amounts you owe. Where a dispute is raised for a charge that was authorised and correctly applied under these terms, we may:

  • Respond to the dispute with the account, access, and transaction records that evidence the authorisation and the delivery of the Service.
  • Suspend or terminate the account and revoke access to the Service while the dispute is open.
  • Continue to pursue any balance that remains lawfully due, including through a collections process.

Nothing in this section restricts your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank where that right applies. It describes what we do in response, not what you are permitted to do.

8. How to Cancel or Request a Refund

To cancel: open your account page and cancel your subscription, or email us at support@thevoltplanner.com. New Graduate Bundle subscribers under commitment must email support.

To request a refund where you believe one is owed under this policy or under applicable law, email support@thevoltplanner.com with the email address on the account, the approximate charge date, and the reason for the request. For a New Graduate Bundle Job Guarantee claim, include the evidence package described in Terms of Service Section 4.10.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time by posting a revised version with a new “Last Updated” date. The version in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.
