1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect personal information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and any other details required during registration. If you sign up through a third-party authentication provider, we may receive your name and email address from that provider.

1.2 Billing Information

When you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment information (including the payment method and billing address) is collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment details on our servers. We may receive and retain limited billing information from the payment processor, such as the last four digits of the payment method, the payment method type, and the billing address, for record-keeping and support purposes.

1.3 User-Generated Content

You may upload or input project-related data into the Service, including but not limited to floor plans, room specifications, electrical load calculations, job site details, and customer information for estimates and drawings (“User Content”). We collect and store this User Content to provide the Service to you.

1.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, features used, timestamps of activity, and general interaction data. This data helps us understand how the Service is used and how to improve it.

1.5 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as local storage) to maintain session state, remember your preferences, and analyze usage patterns. Some cookies and similar identifiers are set by third parties rather than by us. In particular, our authentication provider, our hosting and analytics provider, and the embedded video player described in Section 3.6 may set their own cookies or similar identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookie settings through your browser, but disabling cookies may limit certain features of the Service, including the ability to stay signed in.

1.6 Job Records and Feedback

When you run a job in the Service (for example, generating an estimate in the Estimator), we store a record of that run. Each record includes the inputs you entered (which may include User Content such as customer names, job site addresses, phone numbers, room specifications, and pricing details), the output the tool generated, your account identifier, and a timestamp. If you rate a result (for example, positive, moderate, or negative) or leave an optional written note, we store that rating and note alongside the job record. We use this information to improve the accuracy and quality of the Service, debug issues, and follow up with you about the feedback you submit. You can request deletion of your stored job records and feedback at any time by contacting us using the information in Section 12.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Providing the Service: To operate, maintain, and deliver the features of the Service, including generating estimates, drawings, and related outputs based on your inputs.
• Account Management: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and communicate with you about your account.
• Billing and Payments: To process subscription payments, manage invoices, and handle billing inquiries through our payment processor.
• Improvement and Development: To analyze usage trends, diagnose technical issues, and improve the functionality, reliability, and user experience of the Service. This includes reviewing stored job records (inputs, outputs, and any ratings or written feedback you submit) to evaluate the accuracy of estimator results and prioritize improvements.
• Communications: To send you service-related notices, such as account confirmations, subscription changes, security alerts, and support responses. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails without your consent.
• Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.

3. Sharing, Licensing, and Sale of Information

We may share, license, disclose, or sell information we collect about you and your use of the Service, including personal information and User Content, to third parties, affiliates, partners, service providers, and other applications for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. This includes sharing with companies that help us operate, improve, market, analyze, or monetize the Service.

We may also share information in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, authentication, hosting, and analytics. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing their services to us and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.

3.2 Legal Obligations

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or safety, protect the rights or safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful government request.

3.3 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

3.4 With Your Consent

We may share your information in other circumstances with your explicit consent.

3.5 AI Processing

The Service uses third-party artificial-intelligence providers for two distinct features. Both are described below so you know what leaves our systems and where it goes.

AI chat assistant (“Volt”). When you interact with Volt, your chat messages and a snapshot of the current state of the tool you are using (for example, the rooms in your estimate, the line items in your commercial bid, the symbols in your sketch, or the circuits in your permit package) are transmitted to Google (Gemini API) for processing and response generation. Project-related User Content you have entered into the tool, including customer names, addresses, and pricing details, may be present in that snapshot.

Plan and drawing analysis. When you use a feature that reads an uploaded document or image, including floor plan import and commercial drawing takeoff, the pages or images you upload are transmitted to Anthropic (Claude API) for analysis. Anything visible in the document you upload is included, which for a construction drawing may contain project addresses, client names, title-block information, and other details printed on the sheet.

Not a crisis or safety service. Volt and other AI features are business tools for electrical planning and estimating. They are not designed for mental-health, medical, legal, or emergency use. AI responses may be inaccurate or inappropriate. Do not rely on the Service for self-harm, suicide, violence, abuse, or other crisis situations. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis hotline immediately. We do not monitor AI conversations for self-harm content and we do not provide crisis intervention.

We recommend you avoid pasting sensitive personal or financial information into Volt, and that you review a drawing before uploading it if it contains information you do not want processed by a third party. Use of these features is also governed by the privacy practices of the underlying AI provider in addition to this Privacy Policy.

3.6 Embedded Video

Some pages embed product walkthrough videos hosted by YouTube (Google). Loading a page containing an embedded video causes your browser to connect to YouTube’s servers, which may set cookies or similar identifiers and receive your IP address and referring page, whether or not you press play. This is governed by Google’s privacy practices in addition to this Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Service Providers We Use

The categories of provider we rely on to operate the Service, and what each receives, are listed below. This list reflects the integrations present in the Service as of the “Last Updated” date and may change as the Service evolves.

We may share, license, or sell personal information where permitted by law. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-context behavioural advertising trackers on the Service.

5. Public File Storage

Some files you upload to the Service, including sketch background images, are stored in a public cloud storage bucket operated by our hosting provider (Vercel Blob). Files stored with public access are assigned a URL that can be opened by anyone who has or obtains that URL. We do not publish a directory of uploaded files, but the URL is not secret once generated.

Do not upload images or documents containing sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information unless you accept that they may be stored at a publicly accessible URL. For details on which uploads use public storage, contact us using the information in Section 12.

6. Information Stored in Your Browser

Some features store information locally in your own browser rather than on our servers, using local storage. This includes working copies of in-progress projects and interface preferences.

If you use a feature that requires credentials for a third-party permitting or jurisdiction portal, those credentials are, in the current implementation, stored in your browser’s local storage on the device you entered them on, and are transmitted only when you explicitly submit a permit through that portal. They are not encrypted at rest in your browser. Anyone with access to your device and browser profile could read them. We recommend you use this feature only on a device you control, and clear stored credentials when you are finished with them.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and User Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes. Usage data and aggregated analytics may be retained in anonymized form indefinitely.

8. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration. These measures include encryption of data in transit, secure authentication protocols, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, which may include the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing activities, and request portability of your data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 12 below. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.

We may share, license, or sell personal information as described in Section 3. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right where applicable law prohibits such discrimination. If you ask us to delete your account data, we will do so except where we are required to retain records for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes, or where the information has already been aggregated or anonymised so that it no longer identifies you.

An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf. We may need to verify your identity, and the identity and authority of any agent, before acting on a request.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on the Service with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
